I should post pictures and talk about our last days of the 25 days of Christmas-but it seems like so long ago-like last year long ago!! Anyhow we had a fantastic Christmas-relaxing, reflecting and fun!! I love how into the holidays my boys are especially Joey-such a little party boy!!! He cried when we took the Christmas tree down. He really wanted to decorate for the New Year-but we told him that means cleaning out!!! Which we did. Joe had 12 days off and we went room by room-purging, cleaning, rearranging. Amazing how good if feels to get rid of items that are simply taking up space. What I can't believe is that we had a garage sale this passed summer and we have plenty for another one!!

Post Christmas wrap up
I love cleaning out after Christmas-it makes the New Year seem brighter, happier and more promising!
I know most people don't like new year resolutions but I for one love them. I love a challenge and I love lists to me that is all they are-I don't make new year vows or promises-just challenge myself and create lists -bucket lists if you will for the new year.
Here is some of mine-not all some are a little too personal:)
1. my theme verse for the year is "a gentle answer turns away wrath"-already had lots of practice!!! I want to speak gently to my family to have grace and peace, but sometimes I can have a tone that is anything but gentle!!!
2. continue to DIY most and more of our food. last year we did away with most processed foods and began making most our own sauces, breads, and spice mixes. I want to do more.
3. Read chapter books with the boys-we are half way through the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe-joey is loving it!! We started last year and read Charlotte's Web and joey is starting to really love reading together.
4. Save more so we can Give more-we are starting January by not eating out at all-not even Starbucks. I really want to be able to give to others when I see a need and in order to do that and not put a strain on my own family I need to not waste money on frivolous coffees or snacks. Compared to many we didn't eat out that much-maybe once a week, but starbucks was becoming way too often!!!
anyhow those are some of my goals and challenges for the new year!!! What are yours???

Great goals Sarah!! I love that verse .... "a gentle answer turns away wrath". I SO need to pray that the Holy Spirit will help me in this area as well.
I was surprised Ezra didn't cry when we took down the tree, he loved it so much, but he loves helping more, so letting him help undo I think made a big difference.
