Thanks Discount Divas!

So a few weeks ago the "discount Divas" (missy and jen) gave a talk on couponing, but really more than that it was on what I will call "smart couponing." So I have been motivated again to really bargain hunt and try to be a better steward of our grocery budget.

Last week I spent $14.23 at Albertsons and SAVED $67.82!!!!!!-I should have taken a picture, but I was so excited and put everything away!!

Here is this weeks from Albertsons and Walgeens:

both together I spent $32.56 and SAVED $69.17.
All this is helping me figure out how meal planning and pantry stocking go hand in hand. I am speaking in March again on meal planning, but I want to add a pantry section to the talk and really figure out how to utilize what you have and what you stalk up on for meal planning. I think with a well stocked pantry you can then focus your meal planning on the fresh meats, veggies and fruits.-any ideas?? send me your thoughts on the matter!!

Love it!

This morning Joey was doing "This little Piggy" on Jack's toes only he was saying, "This little monkey."
I corrected him and said it was, "little piggy."
To which he informed me that, "Mom, I have piggies and jack has monkeys."
-ok, then!

Pantry Makeover!

My pantry has been giving me fits of late so finally I decided to do something about it! Joe and I went up to Ikea one evening and bought some fun red bins and away we went. I am sooo happy with the results. There are more pics over on the craft blog, if you desire to look!

Give Thanks

So this month we are trying to focus on having thankful hearts. Joey is slowly starting to get it, but mostly his "thanks" are his likes! He told me he was thankful for presents and new toys the other night.
On another note the boys each got a Mr. Potato Head, thanks to the great $5 off coupon and buy one get one free last week at Freddys. It has provided hours of entertainment, so really one of my thanks this week has been toys too:)
Here are a few of the lates Joeyisms:
"It happened Lasterday or Lasteryear" a combination of yesterday and last year-cracks me up
"Mr. Potato needs a Mrs. Potato because she needs to make him dinner"-hmmm not sure what I think about this!
"Jack-a-rooskie" his latest pet name for his brother. Hearing him saying makes me smile the rooskie part is really high pitched and loud. I have no idea where he got this.

Friends

This week we had Caleb and Kenna over for the morning so Christy could work on her MOPS talk. It is so fun to see the kids interact. They all play really well together and I LOVE the opportunity for "sharing." Joey and Caleb played in the card table tent for a long time and Caleb said, "This is our Boy house-no girls allowed!"

Cutie

This boy is a total crack up! He is silly, goofy, makes me laugh and loves to laugh! He smiles easily and really enjoys people. I seriously cannot get enough of him. I am so glad I am his momma!

Thanks

I have been trying each night to have joey tell me what he is thankful for. I usually start and say, " I am thankful for you, daddy and Jack . . ."
So his list last night: "Popsicles, Doughnuts, and cookies with sprinkles."-hmm maybe a little too much sugar!
